Re-Charting The Chart

Image result for blake shelton

Every week we will take a look at the top 30 Mediabase Country Chart. We will re-rank the songs on the chart based on the quality and overall enjoyment of each song. Next to each song I will provide the ranking that we would give it and the actual ranking on the Mediabase chart in parenthesis (From America’s Music Charts). At the end of each ranking there will be some thoughts about the current chart as well as any news or updates that are deemed important. I hope everyone enjoys this weekly post and feel free to comment/agree/disagree with anything you see.

Songs That Left The Top 30

Quick Thoughts: The chart essentially did not change from last week. No new songs entered the top 30 and no songs left the top 30. There are some songs hanging on by a string and I expect the chart to change rapidly in the coming weeks. 80’s Mercedes, Holdin’ Her, Outskirts of Heaven, Kill A Word, Parachute, Dirty Laundry, Road Less Traveled, Make You Mine, Blue Ain’t Your Color and Guy With A Girl will all likely leave the chart soon making way for quarter 1 singles.

  1. I agree with all those you listed except Lauren Alaina.

Someone on Pulse Music Board explained that it would make no sense to drop a song right after the album drop. If the label drops the song right after the album drops, how does that label benefit. It makes the album sales drop off very fast and the label gets nothing in return. If they keep Lauren Alaina to Top 15 to potentially Top 10 airplay levels the album will sell better and the label will get more money.

    1. Hey Raymond! The way I see the Alaina situation (I could b wrong) I expect that soon after the album drops they will stop pushing it and they will go with the new single. I know they have already begun doing testing for new singles also and have been doing so for weeks. You seem like a huge Alaina fan so I will say this. “Same Day Different Bottle” is a terrific song and by far her best song in my opinion. Unfortunately I don’t see it ever being a single.

      1. Most labels though do early testing for the next single. It’s also why I believe Brantley Gilbert will last longer.

Usually the testing for the next single is done months in advance from what I heard.
